Review: Hyperkin SupaBoy Prime - By 2026 Standards, This Portable SNES Simply Isn't Good Enough
2012 called, it wants its handheld back. You'll have to forgive me if I feel intense déjà vu during this review, because this is the fourth time I've reviewed Hyperkin's SupaBoy system, essentially a portable SNES that plays original cartridges. The first model launched all the way back in 2012 , and came with a 4:3 screen. Hyperkin followed this up in 2016 with the SupaBoy S , which boasted an "improved" 16:9 display which sadly stretched the image. In 2018, the company refreshed the lineup again with the SupaBoy SFC , which not only introduced Super Famicom / Euro SNES-coloured buttons but also added a toggle allowing you to switch to a 4:3 aspect ratio (even though the screen remained 16:9). Humanbrew Discord Co-Founder Is Looking to Build Their Own AI-Free PlayStation SDK
'If I see some part of Yume Nikki run on it, I’ll be extremely happy'. Dreamcast and PlayStation homebrew aficionado Elias Daler has revealed that they are currently looking to build their own PS1 Software Development Kit (SDK) in what will be a "100% AI-free" project. Daler, who has contributed PlayStation mod projects to the homebrew scene, notes that they will be attempting to build the SDK in C+++ language, though admits that they have something of a momentous task ahead of them. The Sega Saturn port of its 1994 arcade smash hit Virtua Fighter 2 was something special, and still never quite receives the plaudits it deserves for its technical achievements. While the Saturn was a fresh console, with Sega stepping into the 32-bit-led fifth generation, authentically replicating the company's Model 2 arcade technology was a mammoth task. You only need look at the Saturn release of the original Virtua Fighter (1994) to see that, while a pretty good port, the console was already sweating when tasked to faithfully matching Model 1 technology.
