Don't worry, GTA 6's cars can drive for ages before their fuel tanks need refilling, leaving me wondering why this motor management's been added at all
Right, before you groan too hard, I promise that after I write this I'll take a break of indeterminate length from writing articles which amount to wondering aloud why a thing that's in GTA 6 is in GTA 6. Cars which need refuelling. It's not an addition there'd not been any hint was coming before today, as with the smell reaction system , leaks having hinted at fuel management all the way back in August. Since that point, it's been confirmed as in the version of the game Rockstar will be shipping to consoles (boo) next month and PC at some point after that. Edge 's GTA 6 long read notes the existence of fuel gauges and engine health readouts, but it also caveats them in what seems an insistence from Rockstar that the first of these features isn't designed to make filling up something the player necessarily has to do often or spend much time on when they do. Oh hi there! Why yes, I am free to chat. Please excuse the wind noise, I'm currently tumbling to my doom in Atmosfar , after getting lost in a cloud bank and exhausting my fuel. This kind of thing happens to me regularly in Atmosfar - an open world survival game that plays out across clusters of floating islands, with players scooting about in adorable, propellor-powered airships. Many of the islands are quite large, with proper landing pads and bases set up by NPC scavengers. Many of them teem with non-human life: rainforests full of nectar droplets and carnivorous plants, meadows of ponderous honking lizards, and mossy grottos where you'll find caches of batteries and possibly get eaten by mantids. It's important to make the most of these larger islands, gathering materials for crafting at your deployable campsite (which straps pleasingly to the back of your whirring fly-mobile). It's particularly important to mine hydrogen crystals you can refine into fuel. Read more

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort just about managed to take home the gold medal in its debut week, pulling in over 64,000 sales. Final Fantasy Resonance put up a strong fight in the following three places, mind you, with its Switch 2, PS5 and Switch 1 releases combining for over 133,000 purchases in week one. Get Your Laps In: Tehkan's 1982 Hit Swimmer Makes a Splash on Arcade Archives 2
Featuring the original Mutant Turtles. I'm not particularly convinced that the final days of October offer the best opportunities to whack on your swim trunks and go for a dip, but Hamster Corporation care not, given that the classic gaming curator has released Tehkan's Swimmer to the Arcade Archives 2 range, available on PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. Released in 1982, Swimmer has the distinction of being among the first aquatic sporting titles ever released commercially, with its setup of a freelance swimmer who, apparently not content with the chlorine-lined safety of his local pool, decides to take his front crawl to the deadly waters of the darkest of jungles. The Duskbloods Switch 2 Release Has Been Delayed To 2027
There will (eventually) be Blood. As will come as very little surprise to all those aware of the ever-shrinking time left in the '2026' window, FromSoftware has today announced that its Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods , will not be launching as originally planned this year, but is instead being pushed to 2027 . 'Now! You have driven all the highway!'. Classic gaming enthusiast Polymega has opened pre-orders for the next volume in the platform's library of vintage arcade and console hits. City Connection is Vol. 23(!) of the Polymega collection and features seven games pulled from the archives of defunct developer Jaleco. Volume 23 kicks off with the titular City Connection (1985), an often-surreal platformer that has players embark on a worldwide drive in a cute car with jumping abilities and front-firing guns. Visit interesting capital cities and shoot at the police. That's the game synopsis, to be clear, not a suggestion. Next is cute-'em-up Game Tengoku/Game Paradise: Master of Shooting (1995), a colourful, vertically scrolling shmup that arrived in Arcades on the Sega Saturn in the mid-'90s.
