Expect Professor Layton News At Level-5's Upcoming 'Vision 2026 II' Showcase

Will we get a release date? Level-5 has announced a new showcase, appropriately titled 'Level-5 Vision 2026 II', scheduled to take place on 10th September at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET / 1 PM BST / 2 PM CEST . This is a follow-up to the company's previous Vision showcase back in April; an event that admittedly didn't really bring the goods in terms of new information or release dates. Hopefully this next one will be a bit more exciting. Read the full article on nintendolife.com

The Witcher Remake is currently on the back burner because progress on it depends on The Witcher 4's development, CD Projekt Red confirm

CD Projekt Red and Fool's Theory might have used Gamescom to make clear that they've got a Witcher thing in the pipeline for this year and the next two , but they've also had to put one of their previously cat-eyed projects on hold for the time being. The remake of the first Witcher game is on the back burner right now, since the next stage of work on it requires more progress to be made on The Witcher 4 . Read more

"A game for everyone is a game for no one": Don't expect an easy ride in Carcass Clad, the co-op tank horror game from the makers of Mouthwashing

On my final day of Gamescom, strolling (running) around the indie area to make sure I don't miss anything good, I stumble upon Wrong Organ’s upcoming Carcass Clad. Set in a wartorn Soviet city, empty of people but littered with tanks wearing coats of Frankensteined cattle corpses (light stuff!), Carcass Clad is a three-player co-op experience that shares the stressful responsibility of piloting a tank and taking down enemy units between those unlucky three. If you read the name Wrong Organ and thought, ‘Wait, the Mouthwashing team? They're making a multiplayer co-op game?’, I can't fault your surprise. How does Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney reckon we can fight the industry's "Crash 2.0"? By building more factories

It's pretty obvious to anyone that's been paying attention that the games industry is in a pretty rough place at the moment. No matter where you look, there are mass layoffs: Sony , Microsoft , EA , Ubisoft , Take-Two , Epic Games … the list goes on. The reasons are myriad, but generally companies place the reason for 'restructuring' at the door of the contraction of the market as a result of the pandemic boom in gaming, rising development costs, longer production cycles (and higher wages), shifts in consumers spending patterns, and the hardware shortages fuelled by the rising demand for AI data centers around the world. "We can get any IP" - Saber CCO on why reviving dormant franchises is the big, obvious secret to the publisher's success, and why Xbox could learn from it

It is no secret to those paying attention to the video game industry that Saber Interactive's fortunes have change dramatically in recent years. First surging into prominence with the release of World War Z, it has been thrust into the limelight with big hit Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 . Using that momentum, it has brought forward new entries in long-dead gaming series like Turok and Stuntman, and remakes of hallowed old games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Read more
