This is the Ray. That's right, folks, Rayman Legends is back again in an all-new package. Rayman Legends Retold was just announced for the Switch 2, and we have already been lucky enough to play it. Marvel's Wolverine is incredibly violent but Insomniac says it needed to be, and there's a way to turn off a lot of the gore
One of the most striking things about the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine game is the level of sheer violence in it - something now underlined in a State of Play gameplay trailer aired tonight. While developer Insomniac's enormously successful Marvel's Spider-Man series saw its heroes fight in a more family-friendly way, never spilling a drop of blood, here the blood erupts in geysers. Rayman Legends was a timeless 2D platformer with beautiful art, but I'll grudgingly admit that its remake is an improvement
In my memory, Rayman Legends is a timeless classic. Released in 2013, it arrived at a moment when Ubisoft were becoming best known for po-faced games like Assassin's Creed and innumerable Tom Clancy spinoffs, yet Rayman Legends was a gorgeous 2D platformer brimming over with silliness and slapstick that showed off the publisher's creative talents and uniquely French humour. So the news that Ubisoft is remaking it as Rayman Legends Retold, dropping its 2D art for 3D animation was not well received in the Benson household, I can tell you. Read more
Hands On: Rayman Legends Retold - Somehow, Legends Returned, But...Why?
"We wanted to be the foundation for the future". I have played through Rayman Legends four times in my life. I got it on PS Vita at launch back in 2013 and loved it. I played the Definitive Edition on Switch when that launched in 2017 and loved it. I went back to the original on Wii U when I finally got my hands on the system in 2022 and loved it. I then replayed it on Switch last month before I went to a mysterious Legends event at Ubisoft Montpellier and, you guessed it, I still loved it. All this is to say, I'm quite the fan of Rayman's last mainline adventure, and I was eager to see what Ubisoft would do with its limbless legacy next. The answer: it's doing the same thing again. The Rayman Legends remake has brought on Banjo Kazooie and DK64 composer Grant Kirkhope, who can apparently spin up gold in a day: 'He's super fast'
"He comes in one day later with something unbelievable."
A Rayman 1 remake is basically "mission impossible" for Ubisoft, Rayman Legends Retold producer says – and besides, it already got a "reboot"
Translation: play Rayman Origins
I played 3 hours of the Rayman Legends 3D remake—and while I miss the 2D artstyle, boy is it still pretty
Rayman Legends Retold will have some new features, too.
Rayman Legends Retold has me struggling to justify its place as a remake, but with platforming this good I can't complain

Silent Hill: Townfall wants you to "fear the truth behind the static" when it arrives in September
Here's the thing. When Konami announced that Silent Hill was making a comeback with not only a remake of its most beloved entry, but two new games from different studios, I felt quite curmudgeonly about it. I still do about that Silent Hill 2 remake, to be honest. Unfortunately, I thought that Silent Hill f was actually quite good , so good that here I am almost a year later still thinking about it. All of this is to say that hearing Silent Hill: Townfall , the slightly Scottish take on the series, now has a release date is just that little bit tantalising. Read more
