Foodman Hikarigasashikomo Foodman's second album for Hyperdub asks what happens to the dancefloor, when the floor is taken away HIKARIGASASHIKOMU by foodman Drawing on a wide range of sources and traditions, Foodman concocts delicate but vivid flavour sensations in bite-size portions. He smiles and shakes his head as you attempt to put his confections into a genre box. For simplicity, let’s say experimental club music, which is more a vague description. While it’s fast-paced, colourful, and fun, Hikarigasashikomo only occasionally, and briefly, congeals into something that might move a dancefloor. The tracks are bursts of hyperactive digital fidget, tiny slices of abstracted sound bumping against each other, sometimes combining, sometimes parallel.
