Video games are great, that's why we're here! But some things about video games are greater than others. And so in the spirit of Eurogamer's Optimism Week - a chance to reflect on just how special the medium can be, at a time it isn't always easy to remember - we thought we'd switch tack; moving away from the big things, to the little things. Arise, Bloodsworn. Ahoy! The weekend is here once again – joy! Before we get into what we're playing, however, let's just see what's been going on this week. First up, Nintendo finally confirmed what the newly-revised Switch 2 price will be in the UK . It's not terrible news, to be honest, but it does put the console over the £400 threshold. What are we all playing this weekend?
For the past ten days or so I've been whinging my way through a chest infection. My partner's been sent out for lemsips, tissues, the blood of a vital youth filled with hopes of a bright future, and chicken soup. With the last dregs of the lurgy coming out of me in runs of coughs I'm starting to feel well again, meaning I've a weekend of ignored chores to catch up on. That and attending a one-year-old's birthday party. Fingers crossed my immune system is now in fighting form because, with Gamescom next week, it would be right annoying to pick up something else. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Switch 2 Partner Developer Revealed By Activision
Infinity Ward got support from Digital Legends. Call of Duty is making its return to Nintendo platforms after 13 years this October, and Activision has revealed the developer who helped with the Switch 2 version of Modern Warfare 4 . Infinity Ward called on Activision's partners at Digital Legends . The Spanish-based studio made a name for itself as a mobile developer and was acquired by Activision in 2021. Nintendo Wipes Out Hundreds Of Switch Emulator Repositories
In the latest wave of GitHub takedowns. In Nintendo's ongoing battle against emulation, it has apparently wiped out more than 400 Switch emulator repositories in a "single-day GitHub sweep". As reported by TorrentFreak , Nintendo filed seven DMCA anti-circumvention notices in one coordinated campaign earlier this week. It targets forks of Yuzu, copies of the Suyu emulator, and Skyline.
