Obscure, Bomb-Based PS1 Puzzler 'Suzuki Bakuhatsu' Gets Fan Translated

Fly me to the Boom. A delicious, delirious piece of PlayStation history has been awarded greater access. As spotted by BlueSky user @nightelectricity , the obscure, Japan-only PS1 release Suzuki Bakuhatsu receives a full English translation courtesy of the dothacktranslate team. Released on PlayStation back in 2000, and published by Square Enix, no less, Suzuki Bakuhatsu is a bizarre puzzler telling the tale of a young girl - the titular Suzuki-san - whose day is interrupted by endless explosive encounters. Combat and socially agonised teens impress in Persona 4 Revival, the RPG that series director Kazuhisa Wada feels a "duty" to make

Look, before you say it, I know. Persona 4 Golden is held up by some as one of the best and most important RPGs ever. After all, it was the series' Final Fantasy 7 moment, where many of the mechanical and thematic threads of the earlier games finally knitted together and became something greater than their parts. You step into the shoes of Yu Narukami, a Japanese transfer student freshly arrived in Inaba. There, you use your limited time to make friends, study for your exams, and dive into a metaphysical dimension to turn-based battle the literal manifestations of your friends and rivals' twisted perceptions of themselves. Its story and characters particularly celebrated for their honest and painful looks inward at the parts of ourselves best left unseen. I’m a fraud for not having played it yet, with that sin only compounded by having had it in my Steam family sharing library for years. I have no excuse. I’ll face the shame-filled shadow version of myself, eventually. Read more

Series sales top 10 million. Capcom – the publisher that can seemingly do no wrong right now – has announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword has surpassed 1 million sales in its first day of release. It's yet another remarkable accomplishment for the publisher; one that pushes the cumulative sales for the series over 10 million. By comparison, Pragmata surpassed 1 million sales in two days , while Resident Evil Requiem managed to shift over 5 million in less than a week . Read the full article on nintendolife.com

Experience A "First Taste" Of The Ninja Gaiden-Inspired Platformer 'Eclipse Blade' With This Epic New Steam Demo

Yari-lly should play it! The last year was a great one for fans of '90s ninja-themed action games, with Game Kitchen's excellent Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and Lizardcube's Shinobi: Art of Vengeance doing a superb job of paying tribute to their respective franchises. Interestingly, though, as we recently learned, these don't seem to be the only games hoping to keep the spirit of the genre alive, with a new indie project currently being in the works that is hoping to provide the same "challenging old-school" gameplay that the original NES Ninja Gaiden was famous for.
