Avengers: Doomsday director Joe Russo says going into production without a script allowed for "magic"
Joe Russo addresses starting Doomsday without a finished script
Lego Skylines is already looking like a treat, but I suspect the real magic's in the stuff Paradox won't talk about just yet
How's this for an unhelpful opener: in a lot of ways, Lego Skylines is exactly what you think it is; but in others, it's probably not. Conceptually, it's a winner, of course - a city builder built with Lego! - and yet it takes things unexpectedly far. But also there's a lot that publisher Paradox and developer Iceflake Studios are keeping quiet for now, and I suspect it's in these still-mysterious details where the game'll really come alive. Video: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Looks Gorgeous (And So Silly) On Switch 2
8-player split-screen? C'mon. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe just recently joined Pikmin 3 Deluxe in receiving a rather tantalising free update to make it look much better when played on the Switch 2. If you're curious to see just how much an improvement you can expect, our lovely video producer Alex has booted it up and provided some direct gameplay. Not only is it blatantly obvious that the resolution is now much higher than it was on the original Switch, but those who enjoy playing local multiplayer have also been gifted a rather generous update. Rockstar unveil the "next evolution" of modded GTA 5 roleplaying, while staying totally mum on when PC pretenders might be able to migrate to their next game
Yep. I know. GTA 6 is still on the list of storied crime games without a PC release date . GTA 5 , though, is out on PC and has long been the place folks who love Rockstar's crime sandboxes so much they want to pretend they live in them go for a spot of GTA roleplaying. Rockstar appear to be sticking to Guh Tuh Ah Vuh for that sort of thing in the near future too, since they're currently trumpeting a new version of the modded roleplay servers run by Nopixel Studios. Feature: Playing Until We Get It Right - How Perfectionism Appears In Gaming
And what we can do about it when we spot it. Breath of the Wild was one of my first video games after an unintentional gaming hiatus (#adulting, sigh). I was good at it—some of it, at least, things like exploring the map, completing side quests, and flurry rushing enemies. But getting the bonus treasure chest in Ree Dahee Shrine? I couldn’t figure it out. This was made infinitely worse by the fact that I could see the treasure chest, hopelessly above me, taunting me. Items, runes, armour, food buffs, jumping—nothing worked. This was a game for children, and I, an adult, was stumped. I was embarrassed, doubly so when I eventually looked up the solution. Read the full article on nintendolife.com

New Virtua Fighter 32X Project Brings HD Polish To Sega's Groundbreaking Port
Those noses have never looked sharper. When Virtua Fighter smashed its way onto the arcade scene in 1993, it caused a helluva ruckus. Sega's one-on-one fighter launched slap-bang in the middle of the fighting game explosion, with titles such as Street Fighter , Mortal Kombat , and Fatal Fury already gobbling up the quarters in arcade centres while riding high on the home release charts. It was an unenviable market to enter, especially when playing catch-up. Of course, Virtua Fighter had an ace up its sleeve, courtesy of Sega's groundbreaking Model 1 technology, which allowed for the high-speed rendering of huge 3D polygonal models. This gave Virtua Fighter a striking aesthetic edge over its competition, and while Yu Suzuki's highly polished scrapper didn't exactly wipe the floor with its arcade competitors, it certainly cemented itself as an exciting alternative to its 2D brethren. Today, Virtua Fighter is widely recognised as the first 3D fighter, a groundbreaking release that would pave the way for franchises such as Tekken , Soulcalibur , and... umm... Ballz 3D .
