The X-Men don't exist in Marvel's Wolverine, and while Spider-Man does, he'll only appear fleetingly in an "Easter-eggy" kind of way
Seeing Jean Gray in the trailer for Marvel's Wolverine yesterday , and her ability to work with Logan as an ally in combat, naturally gave rise to another question about the game: which other famous X-Men characters will we see? Read more
"The difference is not just that you can’t fight back, it’s that you feel like you shouldn’t": Alien Isolation's lead designer wants you to "respect" the dinos in The Lost Wild
Annapurna Interactive have shared a new trailer and fresh details for The Lost Wild, a survival horror game set on an island of wrecked scientific bases, where dinosaurs have somehow endured into the modern era – a kind of "jurassic park", if you will. Announced back in 2022 , it's the work of Great Ape Games, a team of seasoned UK developers with credits at Rare, Hanger 13, The Chinese Room, and Supermassive. The creative director is Gary Napper, who joined in 2025 according to his LinkedIn . Inevitably, the latest press materials focus pretty heavily on Napper's previous experience working on Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation . Like that game, The Lost Wild challenges you to outwit and evade some dynamic and adaptable enemy AI: you don't appear to have any weapons, so making use of distractions and the environment is key. The major thematic break from Isolation, according to Napper, is that the developers want you to avoid killing the dinosaurs because they are fellow beings who are just trying to survive. Not like those awful Aliens, who are just metaphors for sex, capitalism and the Vietnam War. Read more
Random: This Zelda X Wallace & Gromit Parody Is The Mash Up We Didn't Know We Needed
The Goron Trousers. When we initially heard about the Zelda live-action movie, there was a group of us that firmly believed Link's big-screen debut would be better suited to animation. At the time, we meant something hand-drawn or otherwise Ghibli-esque, but now we take that all back. A Legend of Zelda movie should be full stop-motion claymation. And set in Wigan. This burst of inspiration is all thanks to a fan-made parody, ' The Hero of Cheese ', from the YouTube channel ultratom07 , which mashes up the worlds of Zelda and Aardman's Wallace & Gromit in the best way imaginable. R-Type III SNES's Original Director "Deeply Concerned" With Launch Quality Of ININ Games' Recent Remake
"Would it not be more appropriate to suspend sales...". It's probably safe to say at this point that ININ Games' R-Type Dimensions III wasn't exactly what the fans were expecting or hoping for when it was announced that the developer was going to remake the classic SNES game, R-Type III. Since its release last month across PC and consoles, the game has taken a bit of a battering online, with hardcore shmup fans pointing out a number of major issues with the title, ranging from hitbox/collision problems to strange enemy and weapon behaviours, incorrect sound effects, and much, much more. Review: Lexar's Play X Convertible SSD Adapts From 2230 to 2280 for PCs of All Sizes
The fastest 2230 SSD we've tested. SSDs are expensive these days. There's no getting around that, so Chinese SSD maker Lexar has started to offer SSDs that can be adapted to multiple form factors - so a drive bought for one device can be used in a completely different one down the line. It's an interesting idea that brings us the Play X, a 2230 SSD designed for PC handhelds that can be adapted into a seamless 2280 size for full-size laptop and desktops instead. Of course, 2230 to 2280 adapters are cheap - you can get one for less than a fiver on Amazon - so Lexar has focused on getting the implementation exactly right. The core module slots into the 2280 bracket with a definitive click, letting you know it's seated correctly, and the drive is completely unadorned out of the box. Instead, you can apply a 2230 or 2280 sized sticker from the options provided, giving you an SSD that looks visually coherent no matter which size you end up using. It's possible to remove those stickers and apply the other when changing sizes too. Read the full article on digitalfoundry.net

Control Resonant release date? Yeah that's nice, now move aside so I can look at its system requirements and ohhh that's a lot of SSD space
Control Resonant , Remedy’s first foray into hacky and slashy character action, has a release date: it’s September 24th 2026, and there’s a new story trailer to prove it. Another case of the games industry playing Dodge the GTA 6 ? Maybe, maybe not, though this September is getting awfully crowded , with Konami just announcing that Silent Hill: Townfall is out on the very same day. Either way, dates are okay and everything, but I’m more concerned with Control Resonant’s system requirements, which have quietly appeared on the game’s Steam page with no apparent mention elsewhere. And, well, hope you’ve got 100GB of free SSD space. Read more
