It was another busy week for the LEGO Ideas Second 2026 Review Stage as nine more projects have entered the fray for a chance to become a future LEGO Ideas set. As of this post, we’re now up to 77 projects that have qualified for review with a few weeks left to go as the period ends on September 7. LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian trailer released!
Last month, it was announced that a LEGO animated special based on The Mandalorian would be premiering on Disney+ on September 2nd. A trailer has been released today, giving us a peek at this brick-built take on Din Djarin and Grogu's adventures! The special certainly looks good to me, with great animation and some funny moments, as you might expect. I look forward to seeing it next month. LEGO Editions 43024 Ayrton Senna Helmet revealed!
The next Formula 1 helmet has been announced and this may be the best one yet, as Ayrton Senna's yellow, green and blue helmet has had enough time to become quite famous, which has not been the case for some of the other F1 helmets. Featuring the flag colours of Senna's native Brazil, 43024 Ayrton Senna's Helmet will be released on September 1st, containing 931 pieces and costing £79.99, $89.99 or €89.99. LEGO San Diego Comic Con 2026 Recap
It’s been a few weeks since San Diego Comic Con 2026 ended but we finally got around to do a recap on the LEGO happenings during the event. As I mentioned before, it was overall more subtle this year as evident by the booth layout and the lack of panels. The LEGO booth this year was focused on the new LEGO SMART Play sets. It was an airport terminal style layout with the flight board taking center stage. Here we have some locations of various LEGO sets and their set numbers. There is a LEGO BIONICLE reference thrown in for Nui Rama (8537) for Metru Nui. The staff there was handing out different LEGO posters each day. If I recall, there was a Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Ninjago, One Piece, and The Mandalorian. There waa also a scavenger hunt for LEGO luggage tags to win a prize pack. Apparently the luggage tags weren’t just in the exhibit floor but it was spread throughout the whole convention center. I did hear that quite a few people actually found some. The left side of the board was for LEGO Pokemon and the right was for LEGO Star Wars , each showcasing some of the latest sets for the line including the SMART Play ones. There are some interactive area and areas to take pictures. The backside of the booth was another showcase of recently announced sets. Women's Brick Initiative: Please provide your perspective on diversity in the LEGO hobby
The Women's Brick Initiative (WBI) is a Recognized Fan Community that is dedicated to empowering more women and girls in the LEGO hobby while also advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion. WBI runs an intern programme each year in partnership with Smith College. Every summer, these interns dive deep into data behind LEGO around issues on equity and inclusion. This year's interns would like your input on two surveys! The first survey asks how LEGO can be more inclusive. Recently we have asked WBI members what ideas they had about ways to make LEGO a more inclusive space. Combining those ideas and conversations from our team, we have devised a list of actions LEGO can take to make the community more equal and inclusive to all nationalities, races, and genders. We would like your help in ranking them. That survey can be found here . The second survey focusses on the brick-built sculptures that are found at many retail establishments that sell LEGO. These sculptures are often some of the most memorable parts of visiting a LEGO retail space. They can celebrate local culture, bring familiar characters to life, and make each store feel different from simply shopping online. We are inviting LEGO fans and store visitors around the world to help us build a global collection of LEGO retail sculptures. The second survey can be found here. LEGO Nike Air Force 1 revealed!
LEGO launched a few Nike-related models last year, and one more, 43025 Nike Air Max 95, was released in March. Another has now been unveiled: 43026 Nike Air Force 1! The set includes a spaceman minifigure and shoe sculpture on a themed display stand. It contains 1093 pieces, and will retail for £89.99, $99.99 or €99.99 when it releases on September 1st. BrickLink Designer Program Series 6 Excess Stock Sale Next Week
BrickLink has recently announced that leftover sets from BrickLink Designer Program Series 6 will go on sale starting next week. These sets were extras produced for cancelled orders and to replace lost shipments. Usually these second wave of sales are very limited and first come, first served. Are ya ready, kids? Since 1999, Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants has delighted kids and kids-at-heart with its absurd humor, fun storylines, and lovable characters. In 2006, LEGO gave us a theme based on the show , consisting of just fourteen sets. The line unceremoniously ended in 2012, with lots of untapped potential. Fourteen years later , LEGO SpongeBob is back, with 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom! There's a lot riding on this return, with so much nostalgia for both the show and original sets, and a lot of developments in building techniques, not to mention an expanded color palette.
