Ahead of an appearance at Skaņu Mežs festival, Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein guide Dan Franklin through ten highlights from their labyrinthine discography. Photograph by Paul Verhagen Krallice were formed in New York City in 2007 by Colin Marston and Mick Barr. They were soon joined by Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein, of the death metal band Astomatous. The latter recorded an album in 2006 called The Beauty Of Reason which they brought to Marston to mix and master at his Menegroth, The Thousand Caves studio in Woodhaven, Queens. McMaster describes their coming together in Krallice as “two duos fusing”.
