LEGO NINJAGO Celebrates: 15 Years and Counting Panel at SDCC 2026
LEGO will have their first at San Diego Comic Con 2026 with the annual LEGO Ninjago panel called LEGO NINJAGO Celebrates: 15 Years and Counting . This year they celebrate 15 years of the theme jand will take a look back at the popular theme. They’ll also have a stage reading of the exclusive canon scene by LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising head writers Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt. In addition, there will be some major announcements about the future of Ninjago. The panel will be on Thursday, July 23 from 2:15pm-3:15pm in Room 6BCF. NINJAGO voice talent Sam Vincent (Lloyd), Vincent Tong (Kai), Paul Dobson (Master Wu), Deven Mack (Arin), Sabrina Pitre (Sora), and Kazumi Evans (Wyldfyre) take the stage to celebrate 15 years of everyone’s favorite minifig ninja team. The panel features best-loved moments from hundreds of episodes and a staged reading of an all-new, exclusive canon scene written by fellow panelists and LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising head writers Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt. Review: 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet
Plenty of memorable Star Wars helmets appear throughout the movies, though 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet cannot exactly be considered among them! This trooper was only featured in The Mandalorian and Grogu for ten or perhaps twenty seconds, after all. Nevertheless, this model looks very accurate to the movie and includes some clever techniques, as we have come to expect from the Helmet Collection. BrickLink Designer Program Announces Changes Starting in 2028
BrickLink has recently announced there will be some new changes coming to the BrickLink Designer Program. The first thing is the refreshed look of the program with the new logo as well as new box designs for future sets. There will be different accent colors for the various waves. Speaking of waves, as of 2028, BrickLink will be using waves instead of series for the release cycles. Starting with Series 12, it will now be called 2028 Wave 1. It’s not much of a surprise but LEGO has been confirmed to be at San Diego Comic Con 2026 in a few weeks. The SDCC Exhibitor List and Floor Map has been released today and LEGO is back at their usual corner at Booth #2829. LEGO Ideas Sea Serpent (40912) GWP Review
Back in 1992 when the LEGO Castle theme was at it’s high point, one of the sets released at the time was the Sea Serpent (6057). 34 years after by the grace of the LEGO Ideas A Twist of Nostalgia building contest, we have an updated Sea Serpent (40912). The set has 241 pieces and will be available during LEGO Insiders Days 2026 from July 7-12 with purchases of $180. Minifigures There are only two minifigures in the set which are the two Griffin Knights. These versions of the knights have the same printing as the ones in the LEGO Ideas Minifigure Vending Machine (21358) but they have blue detailing instead of the red. Their accessories include a sword and an axe and printed dragon shields for their weapons. Note that the original set had 5 minifigures. Build The updated Sea Serpent does have the distinct blue and black colors of the original set, however, the design has been modified with more modern parts. The hull of the ship instead of using bricks, now use specialized hull pieces. The bowsprit in the front shorter and does not have the dragon piece up front. On to the middle of the ship, the printing on the fabric sail has been updated to the new Black Knights emblem. The original submission had a brick-built sail. Since printed elements cost more to produce, LEGO went with the usual way of adding printed parts without raising prices too much. Bricklink Designer Program Changes 2028
Bricklink has unveiled the next series of changes for its ongoing Bricklink Designer Program (BDP), beginning with the first 2028 submissions this Fall. After an initial AFOL Designer Program back in 2018, Bricklink, in coordination with their new LEGO stewards, launched the Bricklink Designer Program in 2021. Originally set as 3 rounds of crowd-funded competition between unselected Ideas sets from the 10k club, BDP recommenced in early 2024 with multiple annual curated submissions from fan designers, constrained by a limited palette and strict submission guidelines. One constant throughout the program has been change itself, with max quantities going from 5,000 to 10,000 to 30,000 to 30,000+, and Rounds changing to Series and now Waves. Additionally, with so many early repeat selectees, the Program also recently instituted new rules restricting designers to one selection per year. Review: 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith
The original The Lord of the Rings theme ended abruptly in 2013, so many major characters and locations were completely overlooked. However, there are examples where waiting for a massive Icons version, a decade after the original theme, was probably wise.
