Review: 75642 Showdown with Captain Smoker
Smoker is a popular character in ONE PIECE and made his live-action debut in the second season earlier this year. Famous for smoking two cigars, I queried whether Smoker could actually appear as a minifigure, but fortunately he has, although without his trademark cigars. 75642 Showdown with Captain Smoker includes the titular captain with his Billower Bike, plus a couple of Loguetown buildings, which seem extremely detailed. However, I fear the focus on detail has resulted in compromises in other areas, particularly given the price. Continue reading » © 2026 Brickset.com . Technic 42254 Solar System Planets in Orbit official images!
2027 announcements continue today with an interesting Technic model, 42254 Solar System Planets in Orbit! 42179 Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit was released a couple of years ago and received criticism for its bulky mechanism at the time, whereas this model seems much neater by comparison. My LEGO 'Fear'
Happy Hallowe'en! There are many things to fear in LEGO sets, from expensive prices and poor colour matching to agonisingly descriptive set names and the recently-revealed 67012 The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover. However, I encountered something else I really dislike while constructing 75645 Battle at Drum Castle yesterday: the dreaded 'sticker applied on the inside of a wall panel'! These are occasionally a necessary feature, where space is at an absolute premium, but I find them annoying for a number of reasons. Chief among them is that I think such details can be brick-built in the vast majority of cases and that is certainly the case with the shelves in Drum Castle. Also, they are tricky stickers to apply because it can be easy to trap dust or air bubbles underneath and you only have one chance to place them, as you cannot reach the corners to lift them for another attempt, trapped inside the panel as they are. Even worse is the horrifying 'sticker applied on the inside of a curved wall panel', but those are fortunately quite rare nowadays. I still remember my apprehension placing a sticker on the inside of an 8x4x6 half cone element in 76387 Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter! Do you have any LEGO 'fears' like mine? Let us know in the comments. © 2026 Brickset.com . Republication prohibited without prior permission.
